Today was the open day for our new improved airport on St.Marys. The old airport has been completely remodelled and improved. This follows the resurfacing of the runways last year and tarmacking of an old grass runway. We are now in the 21st century!
At the open day today we were allowed behind the scenes to see the baggage handling areas and up the control tower. Pretty good view from up there! The runways were opened to the local bikers club who held some drag racing and timed runs of the runways. All good fun!
The remodelling is not completely finished yet and there are some things that need to be fine tuned. Will you come and visit this year and see the new airport for yourself?
